A Lodge Built With Grand Marais History

A Lodge Built With Grand Marais History

The Breakwall Lodge located in Grand Marais, Michigan specializes in large groups and family get togethers.  We pride ourselves in our “summer camp bonding” atmosphere provided by our large community spaces and entertaining accommodations.

One of the most unique features of the Breakwall Lodge is it’s construction. Built with locally sourced timbers, the frame structure was erected over a period of 6 months by a 5 man crew. The rocks used in construction were salvaged from the original breakwall in Grand Marais.

The Lodge overlooks the bay of Lake Superior, where huge white pine logs used to be rafted for their saw mills. This spacious 4,000 sq. ft. lodge provides easy access to beaches for endless hours of summertime fun and a year-round scenic view.
